crash diets studied for type 2 diabetes

crash diets studied for type 2 diabetes, canola and olive oil are the most used oilsin today’s cooking. both are thought to be heart friendly as wellas tastier than vegetable based oils. olive oil is a fat obtained from the fruitof the olea europaea (olive tree). it is pressed in many different ways, to givedifferent grades.

olives from different regions have distinctflavors making choosing olive oil a difficult decision at times. the different variations can be a big differencewhen it comes to olive oil’s health benefits. one of the main problems with olive oil todayis consumer confusion and outright consumer fraud. spain is the largest producer of olive oilbut the finest oils still come from italy. the problem is that some companies actuallyship their oil to italy to be bottled so that they can claim their oil came from italy. one of the worst practices is that companieswill blend oils so that the acidity level

is 1% and they can claim it to be “extravirgin.” we will explain how that classification isgiven soon. for an oil to be marked “virgin” the oliveoil must be obtained by a physical pressing and it cannot undergo any other refining process. for an olive oil to be “extra virgin”the olives go through the exact same process except that it can have no more than a 1%acidity level. these oils have the highest levels of polyphenolsand omega-3 fatty acids and the lowest levels of saturated fats and omega-6 fatty acidsmany studies have now shown that an olive oil-rich diet can help in the prevention ofdiabetes, as it reduces glucose levels, ldl

cholesterol (bad) and triglyceride levelsin blood. most studies will say however, that if youtruly want to reap the benefits of olive oil, it needs to be a good quality extra virginolive oil and you should not cook with it. cooking the oil destroys many of the healthyproperties. so, is olive oil good for diabetes? a good quality extra virgin olive oil is goodfor diabetes. but beware, a good quality evoo is not cheap. going to your local market and grabbing a$5 gallon jug that says it’s extra virgin is not going to cut it.

a good quality evoo is going to cost you overa dollar an ounce. a 16 ounce bottle of pretty good quality willrun about $20. don’t be fooled by labeling and customerconfusion. i hope this answered your question is oliveoil good or bad for diabetes. don’t forget to get your diabetes managementbook by clicking the link in the description box below. let me know if you have any other diabetesrelated questions. thank youi am ty mason
